What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They let us keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and measure how the platform is performing.

The three buckets we use

Essential

Always on

Required for the platform to function — session authentication, security tokens, load balancing, and remembering your cookie preferences. Cannot be disabled.

Example cookies: sb-access-token, sb-refresh-token, cookie-consent

Analytics

Optional

Helps us understand how students use the platform so we can improve courses, the trading game, and onboarding. Aggregated, never sold.

Example cookies: _ga, _ga_*, posthog_*

Advertising

Optional

Used by partner ad networks to measure campaign performance and (with consent) personalise the ads you see off-platform. Disabled by default in the EU, UK, and California.

Example cookies: _fbp, _gcl_au, ttp

Managing your preferences

You can update your choices any time from Settings → Privacy. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies directly; note that blocking essential cookies will prevent you from signing in.
